Given the times, 2009 wasn't necessarily such a great year for the
East End real estate agent—unless, of course, you happened to be
Corcoran power broker Susan Breitenbach. Breitenbach
not only made admirable showings on The Real Deal's The Hamptons'
heaviest hitters list and on Hamptons Magazine's top
broker roundup, but she also grossed $126.875 million
in sales in 2009—a sum so great that she ranked number six on the WSJ's
top 100
agents by volume in 2009. And to put things in perspective, the
only East End broker to trail Breitenbach was Sotheby's Beate Moore, who
grossed $68.5 million. In a recent interview, Breitenbach explains that
she has "never worked so hard in [her] life"—and now we know why!
