Supermodel Christie Brinkley is putting her four-bedroom, two-bath oceanfront home in Water Mill on the market for just under $8 million.
Brinkley, who filed for divorce from cheating husband Peter Cook last July, purchased the home and some nearby property on Flying Point Road in December 2005 for $4.9 million.
The home is being listed with Susan Breitenbach, senior vice president of The Corcoran Group, who declined to comment on the sale. Brinkley's representative Kathy Lynn said that Brinkley is "on vacation" and not available for comment.
Brinkley, 53, and Cook, 47, reportedly own $60 million worth of real estate on Long Island and elsewhere, including a 4.4-acre spread on Fahys Road in North Haven purchased in 2004 for $7.1 million. The unoccupied six-bedroom Greek Revival residence was where Cook romanced his girlfriend Diana Bianchi. Sources told Newsday last year that Brinkley had originally purchased the house as a gift for her architect husband.
There is also a 20-acre 1898 estate in Bridgehampton, which had been on the market for more than $26 million in the spring of 2006. The house is not currently for sale.
Published reports have said the pair also own beachfront property in the Caribbean.
Cook is Brinkley's fourth husband. The couple married in 1996 and have two children, an 8-year-old daughter, Sailor, and 11-year-old son, Jack, Brinkley's child from a previous marriage whom Cook later adopted.
Brinkley also has a 21-year-old daughter, Alexa, from her previous marriage to singer Billy Joel.
Incidentally, Joel has had his 14.6-acre estate on Centre Island on the market since last year, recently lowering the asking price from $37.5 million to $32.5 million. Joel purchased the property in 2002 for $22 million.
