The sale of a six-bedroom, six-bath oceanfront estate in Amagansett proves that the Hamptonsmarket isn't dead, says the listing agent.
Property records show that the seller is Danny Errico, who founded the Equinox gym chain. He recently sold the 1.5-acre property for $11.875 million.
Annual taxes are $36,270.
The 7,000-square-foot, two-story, traditional-style house was built in 2002. There are seven fireplaces, as well as a heated pool, with a guest house. The house was designed by decorator Anthony Ingrao.
"Prime real estate is still selling in the Hamptons," says Susan Breitenbach of the Bridgehampton office of The Corcoran Group.
The house was originally listed in 2007 with an additional lot for $24 million, Breitenbach says. According to a newspaper report, it had been listed in 2006 with another agency for $35 million.
